Well it is my due date today and still no sign of my little one.

I saw the midwife today who said the baby is 4/5 palpable and she thinks it is ROP. I thought that he was in this position as have been having kicks on the left hand side of my bump but I can feel his back on the right-hand side of my bump.

I have been sitting forward and over beanbag etc for weeks and he doesn't seem to want to move.

Do you think it is too late to expect my baby to move to an anterior position now? Or should I carry on with the sitting over beanbags/pelvic rocks shenanigans?

The midwife didn't seem too concerned btw. And I'm planning a homebirth.

Yup continue on. Try lying on your left side when you sleep as well. There's still time and if the MW isn't concerned then fab!

yeah..what mars said!!

due date already..that has come round quick..well, for me anyway! keep us posted..if a homebirth, you can get DH to post on here as you are labouring ! LOL!

ps my OP baby turned in labour...! listen to your body..it will tell you how to move xx

Ilovemyboy · 23/11/2006 18:19

Thanks for replying. I will continue sticking my arse in the air in the vain hope that my boy will shift himself.

Can he still move if his head is partially engaged? Or would he have to disengage himself first?

God bless this website btw.

lulu - did you labour spontaneously with your OP baby or were you induced?

spontaneous labour..she was partially engaged...15 hours of contractions before she turned..when she did, was done and dusted in 3 1/4 hours!!! so might be longer and more back achey..but it can most certainly be done..had no pain relief for 12 hours, as at home, then some G&A, then stopped using it and she turned after an hour....!!

lulumama · 23/11/2006 18:29

wha t i mean is...i was at home for 12 hours..then hospital! not a home birth..but if i had known then , what i know now....

Ilovemyboy · 23/11/2006 18:43

That sounds like a nice birth experience and not too long. Hope that mine is like that.

Trying not to get too pessimistic about his position.

goes off to look for positive posterior birth stories

Thanks again lulu.
