BMI over 35, has it stopped you having a hb?

My BMI is currently 36.8 and my mw and consultants are still taking my bmi into consideration even though I'm 25+3 so of course it's likely to be somewhat elevated. My dream was to use the MLU this time and the birthing pool but they won't let me use it as I am classed as high risk, only due to my BMI, no pregnancy or healthy related issues, 2 previous normal, trouble free births and 8lb babies. My next option is a homebirth as I really want to avoid delivery suite (after my treatment there when I went in with my eldest). My 2nd was a planned hb but we had to go in as no mws were available. I'm not able to get hold of my mw to ask her opinions and not booked to see her again for another 3 weeks.
So long story short, is there anyone else with an elevated bmi who has been approved for a homebirth?
Thanks x

Hi, I had a homebirth with a BMI of about 36 I think. Although that was my BMI at term. I didn't have any real opposition and the birth was a wonderful experience. Could you email the supervisor of midwives and ask him or her?

Thanks splendide :) I managed to get the midwife to call me back and she sounded quite negative about it and said that they don't think it'd be the best place for me to give birth but we 'can discuss it' :/

I have read about women who want to give birth in the MLU but are being refused due to weight 'threatening' a HB instead. Sometimes they end up being allowed in the MLU after all #justsaying
