What's that all about, then?

I don't know but I'm sure someone will come along. Keep an eye on it though, my sisters started to hurt and hers burst.

Miaou · 10/11/2006 22:02

Bubb, I know it's not the same thing at all*, but I've just had my appendix out (open surgery) and it did start to hurt more after a while, which the GP said was to do with the layers of muscle healing up.

But do keep an eye on it, and on your temperature too.

I keep peeking at Asher, he's sooooo cute

bubble99 · 10/11/2006 22:15

Thanks Miaou. And, BTW, I'll always remember how kind you were after Bo died.

My temp. is fine so hopefully this is all normal and part of the healing process.

Are you OK after your op?

keep an eye on it...is the scar healing ok...any bits look infected or weepy? are you feversih at all?

might be everything healing and knitting....let the midwife know when she next visits....

oops..posted twice and your temp is ok... sorry!

Hi Bubble -Congratulations on little Asher btw - he's gorgeous!!!

I had the same thing with my 3rd CS. It got really sore a couple of weeks later. Are you able to see the wound? I had to search for mine a bit under the empty belly! it wasn't infected but was quite red in places. I bought some anticeptic wipes and every evening gave it a gentle wipe and laid flat out on the bed to let the air get to it which really helped it heal faster. Hope that's of some help and it doesn't get too bad

Miaou · 10/11/2006 22:20

oh bless you Bubble, what a lovely thing to say

I'm in fine fettle now - op was just over two weeks ago and I'm back to normal (apart from lifting heavy things) - suffering more from after effects of the GA rather than my scar (of which I am most proud - 'tis very neat!)

Glad your temp is ok - if I've lifted something a tad heavy then my scar does hurt a wee bit more for a few hours - maybe you've just strained it a bit?

LOL at me comparing my little 3-inch jobbie with your cs scar - am sure you will get more sensible advice off those who have actually had as cs

Miaou · 10/11/2006 22:21

There you go then - I type too slowly!

Thanks MKG.

lulumama...I'm hoping that,as you say, it's everything knitting and healing...and tightening up?

zephyrcat. The empty belly is huuuuuge.
I think i'll have a lifetime of sit-ups to even begin to get rid of it. No temp. and the scar is clean and dry, though.

I bet you're starting to 'do stuff' aren't ya ?

Like run several nurseries, carry the shopping, move crap in the house, pick up objects / stray kids / push buggies....

????

Or are you planted in bed with a remote ?

Huh, huh ?

You have Incurred the Wrath of Hub, Bubble

Hi, Bubble, congrats on your new arrival.

I've had three sections and it is perfectly normal to feel more sore over the first few weeks. It's because they cut through the nerve endings, so as they heal you start to feel the soreness of the wound. You may also find that you feel bruised. So long as the wound is clean and you don't have a temp you don't need to worry, but if you are concerned then your mw, hv or gp can have a quick peek for you. I have to admit that by my third I couldn't actually see for myself.

bubble99 · 10/11/2006 22:36

hubster. Not quite 'In bed with the remote' but not far off....

I would quite like a few years as a SAHM, TBH.

Asher will definitely be our last baby and I want to enjoy him.

nearlythree, thanks. That makes sense. As the nerve endings heal, the pain can be felt.

nearlythree's answer sounds v. plausible, but I note the bubb hasn't actually said she isn't schlepping shopping, hauling Elijah around, pushing buggies etc. So I conclude she is and that she's overdone it and needs new batteries in the remote.
