Sorry, can't help. I went 2 weeks over with my first and tried everything.

I was induced at 42 weeks ( and for what its worth it was absolutely fine and no where near as awful as I thought) but just because you go over doesn't mean you will.

Is this your first?

Waiting is horrible, I hope you go soon.

Your baby will come when he/she is ready. Not what you wanted to hear, sorry.
Good luck though. Smile

What Dr Pepper said. Any signs at all?

nottheOP · 05/05/2015 12:49

Try to tell yourself that your due date is two weeks over. I think most first timers go into labour at 41+1 or something like that and most women aren't induced.

There are also lots of positive induction birth stories out there which might calm your nerves.

Hmm, i seem to remember reading that lots of walking, keeping active, bouncing on the bouncy ball, drinking er- that tea, can't remember which, and nipple tweaking. And sex. And...Eating pineapple?
That is what is in my, 'bringing on labour' , file in my dusty old memory banks. HTH ! :) Good luck

Allstoppedup · 05/05/2015 13:00

Apparently nipple play is the only one with scientific back up ooar but you have to do it for hours and hours to work! Probably the only thing I didn't try...

I ate 3 pineapples in one day then found out you have to eat at least 7- I still can't stand to eat it!Grin

cherrypiecoco · 05/05/2015 13:34

Ive heard about the nipple rubbing so i will try that later! Im diabetic amd not allowed pineapples Hmm so will have to give that a miss! If my husband was around i would try the sex but i think he is weary abt it lol.

Lavender oil in the bath. But DD wasn't really on board with being born and refused to budge so ended up with an emcs. So I'm not sure bringing on labour was necessarily a good idea!

nottheOP · 05/05/2015 13:43

I did pineapple and lots of bouncing on the ball, as well as using the ball to kind of rock in an on-all-fours type positioning.

we also had sex and my waters broke the next day

helloelo · 05/05/2015 14:06

oh poor you Flowers I remember being so restless during my last week... I read this article three times a day, walked a lot and gave birth at 40+5 xxx

cherrypiecoco · 05/05/2015 19:46

At the risk of sounding not in the know what is an emcs?

If you think you baby is breech you need to go and have a scan to confirm it then discuss your options.

SinclairSpectrum · 05/05/2015 19:55

Brisk walking, hot curry, brisk sex.
In the order of your choosing.

Racheyg · 05/05/2015 20:19

Cherry.....emcs = emergency C section. have a look at spinning babies, try getting down on all fours to help turning your little one.

my ds1 came at 38 weeks, I took raspberry leaf tea and did a lot of walking. I feel that going to glastonbury at 36 weeks helped :)

cherrypiecoco · 05/05/2015 20:43

Ah makes sense! Thought my midwifewas keeping something from me lol. Ive tried walking and bouncing on the ball but nothing yet. Guess il keep on at it! Thanks ladiesGrin

If you think your baby is breach you need to get yourself scanned before you try on bring on labour. Breach births can be really quick so you need to talk to the medical team about your options (usually elective section) first.
