Friend had lovely boy yesterday. Ec as placenta praevia and unusually placed. All went well.

What is essential now for healing, or is it just usual caesarian rules? Ie anything else, any tips?
Thanks

I had DS by elective section due to placenta praevia 8 weeks ago. It was fine - I wasn't told anything different in respect of recovery than when I had DD (by EMCS).

That's good to hear.

Dy, she haemorraged at 34 weeks, we got her into hospital and she was injected with that stuff whose name I can't recall, was in hospital for three days but then out, ec at nearly 37. They wondered whether to ec at 34 but wanted to keep the baby in if poss.

Ec went just fine. I was there! Literally holding the baby, who was v normal size for full term baby, let alone a premy. God knows how big it would have been going to term. Took a bit longer to remove placenta than normal, she prob lost a bit more blood than normal, but it was all fine and she is fine and baby is thriving. They kept them under close supervision for 36 hours but then she went onto z normal ward. The anaesthetist, but what would he know, said that she could have gone home sooner.

Hth and good luck.

You will be fine, I promise. ( not a health professional but lived it for the last three weeks.). You are sensible, will get an ambulance/ go directly to hospital if you were to start to bleed again. There they can stabilize you.

Honestly, I've heard all the advice etc and I can tell you hospitals are wonderful in these cases. In this case, they kept baby in womb until 36.4 and then ec. And went through the things they might need to do to stabilize mum afterwards but actually didn't need to, eg transfusions.

The big thing you need now is rest. Can you get it? And not lifting anything heavy ie putting strain on your stomach muscles.

Pm me if you want, though as I say I am not a health professional.
