SPD after baby is born

I had very bad SPD during my pregnacy. I was lucky to have a C/s to deliver dd and my SPD was much better once she was born. However, now, 16 months after the birth, it is still not gone. It's bearable but I am still in pain every day. Will it ever go away or am I stuck with it forever? Is there anything that will help make it better?

I am a keen sportsperson and have been all my life I would be devastated if I could never get back to competitive sports. I sometimes feel that my pregnancy has ruined my health (and thus my life).

I am on a waiting list to see an orthopaedic surgeon, I have regular appointments with a physio (which doesn't help one bit) and I am planning to see a chiropractor. Any other ideas?

Anybody else who had SPD during pregnancy, did it ever go away, how long did it take, can you do sports (if you do?).

I would love to hear your experiences. Thank you.

Great news Harry2007.... finding a consultant who is understanding is such a relief. Hope it all goes well with the delivery! not long now!

Thanks blue

I'm starting to feel excited again for the first time since I was diagnised with the SPD. I'm actually starting to think about how nice it will be to have the baby at home with us instead of just thinking about the constant pain.

Yipeeee and so you should be!.... lets hope it all clears up after birth!

I am still doing physio after 15mths! but getting better x I find it returns around AF time of month... as someone else has mentioned above, not much fun!

When is the date then? '06 or '07 baby?

To be honest, the longer he stays in the better, so I'm going to put up with the pain for as long as I possibly can for the baby's sake. So I hope it will be an 07 baby as I will be 36/37 weeks by then.

The Consulatnt is reviewing me twice weekly and he can book a CS with 3 days notice - first/second week of the new year would be nice!
