Pain relief at home after ELCS

I got home yesterday from hospital after a relatively straightforward ELCS on Tuesday.

I am recovering ok I think, mobile ish, walking and can stre out of bed / too the loo etc by self.

I'm still in quotes bit of pain. In hospital krill oral morphing then ibuprofen and paracetamol.& did feed them orphans so much by day 2. They've sent me home with nothing but I'm am now in quite a lot of pain. It may be due to the at journey/ walking upstairs and I laughed quite a lot for the first time yesterday (which killed).

What have others taken for pain when home? Anything stronger / different to paracetamol and ibuprofen at all?

Any other tips for minimising pain other than doing very little?
Thanks

Thanks

I had paracetamol and ibuprofen to go home with and the injections.

The itching and soreness is normal, as its the nerves starting to reconnect. Im still tingley around the scar 12 weeks on! I don't know about putting stuff on it, I just tries very hard to distract myself! But I did find a bath helped for a bit

Yes, perhaps I was a bit harsh about midwives and GPs usually not being aware of correct drug safety for bf mothers. It does a disservice to the individuals who really do know their stuff.

Better to say that bf mothers will usually get incorrect drugs advice from at least one of the HCPs they come into contact with, which makes it very difficult to tell who's right on the matter.

The BfN is a fantastic resource for sorting fact from fiction in those cases Smile

I also had paracetamol and ibuprofen plus the clexane injections at home. I found I could manage in those, but I had refused anything else since recovery when something I had been given made me throw up and that was the most painful thing ever so I wasn't taking chances with anything unfamiliar. I had a tiny premmie in nicu and I was given ibuprofen when I was expressing for her.
