Miniature Toiletries for Hospital Bag

Okay, yes I know I'm incredibly disorganised, but there's no way I'm going to get to the shops before the birth, and I need some miniature toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, body wash, shampoo, conditioner) to bung in my hospital bag that isn't even close to packed yet.

I have sensitive skin, so they would have to be fragrance free... any ideas where I could buy these online with fairly quick delivery?

body shop?

Marina · 23/04/2004 10:30

REALLY fragrance-free as opposed to good quality/organic etc? Sorry Georgina to sound ignorant (I can use any old rubbish) it's just that maybe a kind Mumsnetter near a big shop can stock up for you and post on? Is that any help?

if you can get to a superdrug, they sell little empty containers and then you can put your own stuff in them. i did that with my 2nd baby and it was much better, and i knew it wouldn't bring me out in a rash as i suffer badly with eczema. good luck!!!

TBH don't know Marina, maybe good quality organic would be good enough, but they tend to be expensive and it doesn't seem worth it for a hopefully short hospital stay! I also would feel a bit cheeky asking someone to post me some, when effectively it's because I'm feeling too lazy and fat to go wandering around the town centre!!!

busybee: that sounds a good idea - might send the husband out this weekend to get the containers!!

twiglett: tell me about it! Can't believe how disorganised I am this time around. I've basically used the list the hospital supplied plus added a couple of things on the end that I thought I'd like. But that's as far as it's got - a list!

boots on line??

GeorginaA · 23/04/2004 12:06

Boots don't seem to have anything other than really fancy stuff - I really just want the basics of a compact hairbrush, small travel toothbrush/toothpaste, a small bottle of body wash or soap, a small bottle of shampoo and a small bottle of conditioner. The conditioner is probably optional.

There's obviously a niche market here! plans a completely packed "buy off the shelf" hospital bag shop

Although i haven't been to a superdrug for a while - they used to sell sample size bottles of shampoo, bodywash, deodrant etc. you could give them a try

Jaybee · 23/04/2004 12:11

Superdrug also do a reasonable amount of trial/travel sized products although the range is often limited - you may be able to get some bits and pieces. Although, I think if you have very sensitive skin I think I would take you usual stuff in smaller pots.

Hulababy · 23/04/2004 19:52

Virgin Vie do some of their facial and body stuff in mini bottles too.

Also, ASDA sell packs of mini plastic bottles for you to decant your own usual stuff into. They also do mini brushes.

Aw essbee, you're lovely

However, I have decided to throw the husband out to superdrug tomorrow though and decant my "usuals" into little bottles... that way I know that I'll be rash free!

Thank you though

Or I can send you some hotel toiletries you can empty, rinse and fill with your own stuff That's how I take stuff on weekends away.

GeorginaA · 24/04/2004 17:27

Wow, I'm impressed with my dh... he's come back from Superdrug with some ace minatures - just the sort of things I would have chosen myself!

AND he came back with some icecreams... what more could a girl ask for?!

I just took everything I needed in normal-sized bottles. You never know how long you're going to be there ......
