lop-sided caesarean scar - why?

I was found this site with pictures of caesarean scars. It's quite good to compare mine to others but I was shocked to find there were a few other women with a lop-sided scar like mine. I thought that my surgeon was just incompetent but now I know it's not unique. Question is, all the lop-sided ones seem to have more scar on the right than on the left. Can anyone tell me if there is a reason for this or is it just coincidence?

TIA

These are all horrific, mine doesnt look like any of those but mine is op sided. I think that it is to do with the way they stretch the skin upwards before they do the inscision.
Mine was more of a hurry and nothing to do with incompetence. A very very strong word i think.

Strangely fascinating. I have had 2 caseareans, and the thing I hate most is the overhang. Judging form these pics, clearly the only way to avoid is not to carry any excess weight at all.

Feel smug that I don't have any stretch marks though

Mine is a slight v shape and lopsided, but I've never thought it should be different.
I guess there are so many variables - size of mother, position of baby/placents, urgency of surgery - that getting the cut central and straight is not really a top priority.

Mine is low, healed well, and saved the life of my daughter, so I'm certainly not going to complain.

my scar was quite good compared to some of the pictures, but then i did have a tummy tuck to repair the overhang and the baggy belly after having a 9lber! Can't belieive the New Zealand one!, 10th preg and first c/s and had a good tummy and maintained a good weight too! New zealand scars look quite good!

that 10th pregnancy one was shocking! can't imagine getting to 10th baby! Hope she's done her pelvic floors!

I guess all scars are different. I've just been conscience of it being lop-sided since it was done but like was said, so long as I'm ok and DS was fine, I shouldn't really worry about it (not that I worry as such...)
