It's next monday. You'll probably have been discharged long before then.
And if you haven't the only difference you'll notice is that you won't be discharged before 11am.

Ah yes you're right! That's a relief. So maybe just a postnatal home visit might be delayed or something.

Thank you

Yes. They are doing 'bank holiday' service until 11. So prob won't get a visit before.

I'm going in to be induced tomorrow so there is a good chance I may still be on the postnatal ward on Monday, so I asked my MW whether I would be affected when I saw her earlier this week.

At my hospital at least, care on the wards won't be affected by the strike, and this includes postnatal.

Post-natal wards are notoriously shite.

I doubt a strike by midwives would make much difference on one anyway!

lighteningmcmama · 10/10/2014 01:09

I was dreading ending up on postnatal ward. As it happened because of my complications they gave me a side room so I had privacy and was comfortable. Hope magichandles you have a comfy stay too (and a good induction)

Congratulations.

I can't imagine there are many postnatal wards where midwives have time to deliver breakfast! Mine was self-service, except for those post c-section or epidural, for whom it was brought by HCAs.

Thanks

It was a HCA who brought it to me too, they brought break fast to mamas and you had to go and collect lunch and dinner.
