I'm having an ELCS In 5 weeks for Dc2. 2 weeks later we will all be going to my brother's wedding Confused

Here is the stupid question... Am I right in assuming that wearing heels will be out of the question?

Why? I'm pretty sure I wore heels to a wedding also 5 weeks post ELCS. Didn't give it much thought tbh

I had a section 2 weeks ago, not sure I could wear heels but then I don't wear them often at all!! You could wear them and take some flats with you perhaps?
Good luck with your section

Thanks for responding - I just assumed it would hurt given the way your posture changes a bit in heels.

I have had two EMCS, and I don't think I could have worn heels two weeks later. I couldn't have stood for a very long time or walked very far either. It would have made me ache across my middle and tired me out.

McBear · 14/09/2014 09:45

I think it'd be totally dependant on you. I walked miles about three/four weeks after and was fine but it hurt me to drive at 5 weeks. My friends were completely the opposite. It'll prob be fine but you must take it easy (easier said than done) and change to flats as soon as the heels cause any discomfort (easier said than done Wink)

I had an ELCS two weeks ago.

If I had to go to a wedding today, no I would not wear heels.

I am still sore enough not to want to stand for long periods in flats and walking on uneven surfaces aggravates the soreness. My joints are still a little dodgy, and my posture isn't the same yet due to still carrying some baby weight.

I think I'll be fine in a couple of weeks, but right now I think its a bit ambitious.

beccajoh · 15/09/2014 17:36

I wouldn't but see how you feel. Take some flats if you do wear heels.

Booboostoo · 15/09/2014 18:35

It seems to be very subjective. I had my second ELCS two weeks ago and I have no problem walking, carrying DS, going up and down stairs, etc. I don't normally wear heels so I can't know for sure but I don't think they would be a problem.

BikeRunSki · 15/09/2014 18:39

You might, but you might not be able to.
Ds - delivered by emcs - I could have danced all night in skyscraper heels a fortnight later.

Dd - crash section - couldn't stand up straight for 9 weeks.

Thank you so much - heels and slippers it is Smile

I would have been able to make the wedding. Not sure about heels as I can't wear them normally Grin have fun
