C section wound question

I had a c section 13 days ago. The left side of the scar has been healing nicely but I'm having trouble with the right side. I went to the drs yesterday who said that it isn't infected but there's a yeast infection (smell, a little swollen on one side) and he gave me some cream. He did say that there was a bit that was "open" but he said that's normal and that it's so it can be a bit weepy, again it's normal he said.

I was just applying the cream when I noticed there was a small amount of blood coming from the wound. It was a small amount and when I had dapped it away, there was no more. I wondered if it was because I'm having to touch it more to clean and apply the cream.

Should I be worried? I'm terrified of it all opening up or needing to be re stitched. The dr wasn't concerned but I'm quite anxious about it!

Anyone had an experience like it or no how I can help it to heal? I know some people have much worse experiences than this post c section!

Have you got a contact number for your midwife out of hours?
With my second c section I had an infection, but the doctor said it was fine (it was infected) so ended up on anti biotics after my temp went very high.

I had similar. My internal stitches didn't dissolve properly. I had the last few removed and it healed fine

Hi op

Bath as often as you can in salt water. It took mine a while to heal but I be honest I would be heading straight back for another check up. If only to reassure you.

Keep it dry. Bath twice a day if possible. Dry with hairdryer. I also found (and bear with me) that putting a sanitary pad across the scar helped keep it dry.

I had an infection in my wound with my first, after a few days it opened at one side and about half a pint of pus hit the floor at speed, awful mess. My midwife ran away, very scary at the time but funny now. They patched me up and put me on antibiotics, they didn't need to stitch me again.

All caused by the fact ds wee'd as he was lifted out, lovely.

I used a hair dryer on mine too, was great.

mine was like that; basically not enough air getting to it with the delightful overhang. I had iodine dressings from the practice nurse to try to dry it out a bit and stop infection, and gauze after that tucked in my knickers in the overhang (lovely). Healed well after that.

And rest. Once the baby is changed and you've got your tea and bics then back to the sofa. Internal wounds take longer to heal then external, so take it easy for a while yet.

I twanged my DC2 wound when I was a bit too active. It settled down after a couple of days of slobbing around in pj's.

Just an update for you kind ladies who commented on this! I went back to the drs on Monday and they said it is infected (not just a yeast infection) and I'm now on penicillin and the wound has had to be re dressed. The nurse was really nice and answered loads of my questions. She said that it will heal nicely and in a week or two the infection should be cleared up!

Looks like I caught it early!! Such a pain all this but hopefully it will clear up soon! Back to the drs on Friday to check it and then back to the nurse next week!
