Advice needed re stitches, TMI sorry!

Gave birth 2weeks ago, 2nd degree tear and had perineum stitched. Just had a look and I can see the two bits of separate skin with stitches going between, is this normal? I would of thought the stitches should be tight enough that I can't see them going between the two sides of the wound if you know what I mean? It seems the stitches have come loose or are they supposed to be like that?

It's early days but get your midwife/health visitor to look - as un appealing as that might sound far better than a problem occurring.

If you're in a lot of pain and no one is due to see you go to GP.

I left mine after first baby, thinking this just must be what it's like (blimmin agony!) and suffered with an infection and problems that took forever to heal.

I'm not in pain but it is uncomfortable! I think I might give the midwife a ring just to put my mind at rest!

Hey Toast, glad to hear that you decided to phone someone. What did they say?

ToastMakesMeHappy · 24/05/2014 21:04

I'm going to ring them tomorrow, I don't want to seem like I'm over reacting! Blush

Hi Toast, give them a call, your not over reacting and better safe than sorry. They see all sorts all the time.

Hope you get sorted soon.

Give them a call, better get it looked at sooner rather than later. Better to see the mw too who can then refer you on if needs be - rather than the GP, "general practitioner" as opposed to midwife (specialist of fanjos!) Wink

If there is a problem the sooner you seek / demand help the better! It sounds like it needs to be checked out. Congratulations.
