Hadn't finished.... But have the worst feeling this time that my waters are going to go (obviously no reason for this, just a feeling) but just wondered what others experienced as I know very labour can be different! X

I've had ARM twice, and things got moving from there.

Dc1 - waters went well into active labour in spectacular fashion all over the delivery room floor causing the mw to slip

DC2 - waters came out on the contraction before his head, so moments before he was born.

QueenofClean · 10/04/2014 20:28

DD1 - born in her waters.

DD2 - waters broke 56 hrs before she was born. 2hr labour, induced as didn't go into labour on my own.

Hello, DS1 they broke my waters soonish before he was born. DS2 waters going was first sign, but in a slow leaky repeatedly going to the loo way, not dramatic gushy kind if way....

Littlemai · 10/04/2014 20:30

Of (auto corrects of to if every time.....)

WandaDoff · 10/04/2014 20:32

My waters only broke naturally with DC3.

The first two times they broke them for me.

PluggyMug · 10/04/2014 20:34

DC1- waters broke well into active labour and baby arrived soon after

DC2 - waters broke mid-morning, contractions didn't start for a few hours and baby arrived in the middle of the night.

So, no real pattern at all!

Dd1, the midwife broke my waters when I was 10cm, just before I started pushing, dd2 was born in her waters, she just sort of flopped out in one go in the sac.

Interested to see what happens with dc3 (I'm 6 weeks and 3 days). The midwife with dd2 tried breaking my waters when I was pushing her out but couldn't. Kept asking my if the sac was made of steel or something...Grin

Same as you both times, OP.

ImBrian · 11/04/2014 09:02

My first two my waters went when I was an hour or so away from pushing. Second two my waters broke before labour started.

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 11/04/2014 16:21

DC1 - waters broke right at the end of 6 hour labour while pushing

DC2 - waters went unexpected, labour started immediately, DC2 born one hour later!!

jeee · 11/04/2014 16:24

My waters were broken during labour with DCs 1, 2 and 3. But with DC 4 they broke spectacularly over my bedroom floor before labour began. I was really pleased because for some bizarre reason this was something I wanted to experience Hmm.

MrsMcEnroe · 11/04/2014 16:33

DC1: midwife broke my waters around the same time that I had an epidural - was at least 5cm dilated by this point

Dc2: born with waters intact. "I can see a balloon!" said idiot DH as her head emerged ...

Good luck OP Grin

LoadsaBlusher · 13/04/2014 21:02

My waters broke naturally with both DC just before fully dilated and both born within the hour

AmberLav · 14/04/2014 13:50

Both times waters broke 10-30 minutes before baby born... 40hr labour with DC1, and 2 hr labour with DC2...

Savoytruffle · 14/04/2014 20:10

I had the 'crochet hook' first time to accelerate what was a very..... laboured... labour. Incidentally, that manual waters breaking experience was completely fine, no pain at all.
Second time, waters broke at home whilst i was laughing! Thought it was a wee, but no...Blush

Hellomums123 · 15/04/2014 14:19

With my first i had to have them broken for me. With my next they just went as i was walking around the house!! and my last they went slowly 4 days before she was born. so there is no real pattern at all.
