help!!! I'm 8 weeks pregnant and terrified!!

I have a condition called uterus didelphys I have 2 wombs and 2 cervixes not only does this cause problems in pregnancy and deem me high risk it also means I will most defiantly be unable to have a VB. The thought or having a c-section really really scares me!! It seems so brutal and horrible!! I need some reassurance it's all I think about and I'm really distressed ð??£

In the mother & baby group I mixed with after the birth, the C-section mums were in a lot less pain and recovered quicker than the ones who had natural delivery with tearing and infections. Not saying C-sections are better. (They can really slow down breast milk coming in - so watch out for that - no one told me. You might need to boost it with milk thistle or fenugreek or some medical aid.) But they definitely have some great advantages. I have friends who still can't ride a bike or jump on a trampoline with their DC after normal delivery, whereas you don't get any of those problems with C-sections.

Did you not think to have any counselling about this before getting pregnant? C-sections are only a really tiny amount less safe for mothers giving birth and the statistics fade to practically nothing really when you take account of the fact that most c-sections are performed when there are complicating factors anyway - there are very few elective c-sections for no physical reason.

I had an elcs 8 days ago and it was an amazing experience. I had a rather difficult vaginal birth with my first ds and didn't want to go through that agsin so elected for csection. The theatre staff were lovely and I felt no pain or discomfort during the operation. My ds was born within about 10 mins of the operation starting and the whole op was done and dusted within the hour. A much nicer experience than my first delivery (vaginal).

I was up and walking 6 hours after the op, and home after 24 hours. I have had absolutely no trouble bonding with my ds and can honestly say I feel so much better, both physically and mentally, than my first birth. I know everyone is different, but I feel better now than I did at 6 weeks post first delivery.

The thought of it is much scarier than the reality in my experience.

I had an emcs 6 days ago and although the first day was very painful and hard to move, since day 2 it's got better and better. I've been in hardly any pain at all and keep reminding myself to take it easy as it feels so much better than I expected.

Try not to freak out! Good luck.

I'm due my second section Thursday.

First was 4yrs ago due to breach birth. He came early and even though it was an "emergency" section I was calm throughout! Please don't be scared. It's all over very quickly Smile

Congratulations!

Don't worry!
It is much easier to have a CS than to go through all the pain and discomfort of a natural birth. And is statistically safer for the baby.
I had a previous ECS and after 12 hours I was up and about and I didn't even need a paracetmol for pain. I breastfed without any problems my son as well.
