C Section scar.

It's been almost 13 days since my EMCS.

My scar has healed well - no discharge or odour, but, the skin above the length of the scar has gone hard and lower abdomen has become very sore.

Is this a normal process?

Midwife was supposed to visit me at home today, when I was going to ask, but she didn't turn up.

TIA of any responses.

If it is hard and sore that suggests infection to me. I would see the GP tomorrow, if you can't get an appointment go to a walk in centre. I would not wait.

A midwife will be visiting me later on this afternoon. The last thing I need is to be out of action with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a DP who's working away...

I had an infection with no discharge or odour, the only sign was that it was very hot.

But the healing process can be long and very strange at times.

It's been a while, but I think mine did this - hard and sore - and there wasn't any problem, it was just healing. Tho I'd say it was tender, rather than sore. What's the level of pain like?

Midwife's just been. She said it's normal bruising from the abruption/cesarean and it will go down and soften. She's visiting next week to check on it again.

I'm still on paracetamol/ibuprofen for pain relief so the pain is bearable, phoo.

Glad to hear it. Next up: it starts to go really weirdly numb. That stage lasts for years!

It's already feeling numb.

And, who was it that said cesareans are the easy way?!
