Is there any difference between the different brands of TENS machines?

As the title suggests, I'm wondering if there's a difference. Used a boots one last time and it was great but no large store near me to get it from this time so looking at other brands.

Looking mainly at the ladytens and the mamatens (mothercare one). The mothercare one claims to be the best on the market. Anyone have evidence of this?

I know you can get the standard ones with a boost button and the more high-tech digi ones. Does anyone have experience of both? As the standard ones offer a boost acility anyway, I'm not sure what benefits come from the digi ones. I certainly don't want to be faffing around setting exact pulse strengths when in labour.

Thanks

Look at the pictures then you may be able to work out the difference
I think the digi ones will have buttons to up the zap level and the others will have a dial

I used Boots - you may find a small store can still order you one in

I rented one with a separate boost button last time and found it too much of a tangle with all the wires especially if needing to go to the toilet. This time, I bought a Mamatens one in the Blooming Marvellous sale which has the boost button built into the main machine - only four wires to each of the electrodes. Much better. Only other thing I'd say is make sure you get one with 4 pads and not 2.

Thanks, all the ones I've looked at have the boost button as part of the machine. Also, it hadn't occured to me that some only came with 2 pads. I'll double check.

I guess what I'm wondering is does the same level of machine from various companies deliver exactly the same service of pain relief. Also, do the digital ones really offer better control?

bumping for you homemama coz I want to get one too

did Boots last time and liked it a lot.

you can get them at the pharmcy counter at Tesco too for a great price and for us that'd be really easy to return

think the 2 dials for the different pads might confuse me!!

Thanks Tassis, think I'll try and get the boots one again or the mothercare one (mamatens).

Maybe if I ring the mothercare advice line, they can tell me what they base their 'probably best on the market' claim.
