Hello-

Having my first baby and also American so fairly new to NHS system and dealing with its highs and lows. I would LOVE any feedback on the hospital options I have- Kingston, Queen Charlottes, West Middlesex, or Chelsea & Westminster. I'll be living in Kew when the baby comes.

Thank you sooo much for your input!

Jennie

I've had one at C&W and one at QC. C&W antenatal care was excellent but I got stuck on a MASSIVE post natal ward afterwards (not sure if they have changed these now) but there def weren't enough midwives and I got precious little help (and was scowled at a bit if I dared to ask anything) - I don't know how many beds but it was big, maybe 10/12/14.

QC was great - antenatal care was good but I had to wait a long time at the hospital for all my appointments. After care was excellent (though I was only in for a few hours) - couldn't have been more different from C&W and I left wishing I'd had my first there aswell.

I had both mine at QC. The first an emergency C section and a (rather too) natural delivery in their birth centre for the second. They were great, the place was clean, and they're specialists so if things do go wrong you've got help. I also thought their education sessions were good.

The meet-up is at SueJonez's place. You can cat me for more info. So far it's a homemade chili night. And we have yet to sort out who else is bringing what.

CAT can be found at the top of the page: "Cpntact another talker".

I have had 2 ds in Queen Charlotte, and both times I got my owm room and dh got a bed! This was in the natural birthing centre and I can't praise the staff enough, they were fantastic. I even had the same midwife for both ds.
