I nominate dh.

I asked him if he would like to witness the birth of number 3. he said "well, how many do I need to see? it's mot like a U2 concert where they change the set each time is it?"

Indeed not.

Oh that is a good one! Was he surprised when you went after his privates with a cheese grater?

ExH just looked kind of stunned when I asked - like I had just asked him to tye himslef to the bottom of the upstate express with his tounge

doesn't really bother me tbh. neither of us are the kind of people who have a moment of epiphany at the birth (at least, neither of us did at the other two). and he will come if I want him to. It was the witnessing childbirth=entertainment thing that made me laugh!

DP asked ever so politley if i waould mind hurrying up this time as i took rather a long time with DS and he got bored

Charming!

MrsJohnCusack · 01/08/2006 17:22

v.funny

actually, I would rather see childbirth than bleeding U2 any day

Cappucino · 01/08/2006 17:22

dh had gone home for a sleep cos I'd been induced and it didn't work

then suddenly it did and I was 9cm

he turned up after being called by the hospital and the first thing I said to him was 'what the fuck are you doing in a white shirt? I'm going to have to wash that'

shazronnie · 01/08/2006 17:23

My DH says he'd rather see a screaming woman than U2...

I used to think it was very very important, and tbh every father I know who has been there has said they are glad that they were, however, in my cynical old age I have decided that it is far better to have an experienced understanding friend/realtive than an unwilling, bored or otherwise reticent partner in the room

I always thought i knew how much i weighed when i was born, as when i'd asked my dad, he said i was born 7lb 3 oz.
One day i told my 3rd sis, and she said 'no, i was, dad told me!'
dad said 'oh, one of you must have been .. can't remember all 7 of you!'

mum had said that 5th sister was the ugliest baby she'd given birth to!!

on the birth of my dd2, midwife excited said 'congratulations .. you didn't tear!'

Toady · 01/08/2006 17:41

When I had DS3 everyone was congratulating the bloody consultant, it was the first VBAC2 SHE had ever done. Some one actually shook her hand and said Well Done to her stuff the mother

southeastastra · 01/08/2006 17:42

these are so funny! i can't remember what my dp said at all

Toady · 01/08/2006 17:42

Also he came out so fast the midwife said "bloody hell ....... its alright I've caught him"

SenoraPostrophe · 01/08/2006 17:43
