40 wks, posterior cervix, can't walk

As title says, I'm just over 40 weeks, cervix posterior but soft but I can't walk or use exercise ball etc due to back problems.
I have tried to get walking but I can barely manage a lap of my house before nerve pain kicks in and my legs go out from under me.

Is there anything else I can do to get cervix to move or am I resigned to having a c section?

You poor thing. Try to rest and don't overdo the walking, you will need your strength for labour. Eat well. I had the same problem (cervix posterior ) but mine was hard, so you might have a chance of a vaginal delivery. All the best and congratulations!

Mine was like that at 41 weeks (an 3cm but third baby) and my baby was here within eight hours. That sounds favourable at 40 weeks. Good luck!

Very similar situation, cervix posterior and three sweeps down with no change. Also can't walk far as have nerve pain in my left hip which makes walking excruciating after a while.

Am trying to accept it and have an induction booked to start on Saturday.

Have you spoken to your midwife / hospital about options or how they think you are progressing?

Posterior cervix is just where it was at the time of examination. The softness is encouraging. Changes have started.

Stress hormones inhibit labour starting so try not to over think this. Relax, rest, eat nice things. Do whatever you need to help the discomfort. You are like a ripening fruit, it takes the time it needs.

I have seen first time women go from totally unpromising to holding a baby in 48hrs.

At my 40week appointment I was told my cervix was posterior (was checked as I'd been having pains). 6 hours later I was holding my baby boy after a fast and straightforward labour. Don't be too disheartened yet.
