Bless you, I had my daughter at 19 and even though I had a few years on you its hard not to feel completley overwhelmed by childbirth, with regards to what to pack you may want to read some of the pregnancy magazines and websites but prepare yourself I was in for 3 days! so it helps to overpack, There are so many horrors stories about birth and i can honestly say I had a great birth although I was in labour a long time i was comfortable throughout as I had an epidural, it really helped, im not saying you should have one too but it certainly worked for me.
Share your concerns with your midwife they are there to help you and perhaps talk to friends & family who have had children for advice.
Look after yourself
Good luck!! x

There's no need to be scared, I had my first baby 8 weeks ago and I'm 41! Just remember that the midwives and all the staff are there to help you and you can ask them anything. The most important things I found to pack were pjs, change of clothes, underwear, toiletries, phone and charger and chocolate!
What I found most helpful of all was to stay calm and relaxed and listen to the midwife.
Good luck!

Having a baby is scary for anyone, regardless of age

Do you have family support? There are tons of website etc that can help with bag packing etc

You don't need to buy everything on there lists though just the basics

Don't forget some nappies for the baby.

There's a lot of blood after giving birth so you'll need maternity pads and some cheap, black knickers a few sizes larger than your normal size. A supermarket pack / Primark are perfect.

Try and pack something to drink. Lucozade Sport was great for me as it gave me some energy when I wasn't really up for eating anything.

Who is going with you to the hospital? Have you talked to them about how you feel if you are scared?

Childbirth is definitely a little scary whatever age you are.
I agree that you should listen to the midwives. They will be very supportive and offer you advice during labour so just listen to them and you'll do fine.
Also go in with an open mind. You never know what might happen. It might be an easy one or it could be very hard, but focus on that lovely baby you get at the end and it's worth every pain.
With regards to bag..... Maternity pads are a must and thick ones. There is a lot of bleeding so you'll want to feel fresh as possible. Pack some mini toiletries for a shower/bath, snacks and some drinks and magazines in case it's a long one (i was only at the birth centre for 40mins so no time but after a tear I spent a night in the hospital so was thankful for my snacks)
A change of clothes for you, slippers (you won't want to be bare foot on the hospital floor) a nightie (make sure you can get your boobs out if breastfeeding).
Do you want an old nightie to labour in? Or a tankini for a water birth? I went naked as couldn't bare anything touching me but you might feel more comfortable wearing something. Old underwear or disposables. Phone charger and don't forget money for parking.
Then there's stuff for baby. Clothes (vest, sleepsuit, Cardigan, hat - a few of these in newborn and tiny size as you won't know which size fits) A baby blanket, the car seat, nappies, wipes, Nappy bags.
Can't think of what else even though it was only a month ago.
There are plenty of lists online to give you ideas. Just don't take anything you care about to wear in labour as it will get messy.
Good luck.

For what it's worth I really enjoyed my labour though it was physically tough and very long. Have a read of some of the stories here tellmeagoodbirthstory.com and they can also match you up with someone to talk to locally if you like.

You will be just fine Smile

I was 17 having my first and I really enjoyed giving birth despite it being a difficult one you will be fine.
