Back pain 2 years after epidural?

I had an epidural with my DS 2 years ago. Ever since then I have had backache each morning I wake - I used to sleep on my front but since giving birth, if I lay on my front I get chronic back pain - it feels like I need to push my back out.
I've never suffered with any back problems before so am wondering if the epidural may be the cause?

To be honest I very much doubt it was the epidural. It's more likely to be the effects of two pregnancies or something more common like bad posture, mattress or sofa too soft etc. Have you tried physiotherapy?

I've only had 1 pregnancy, and no change in mattress or anything. Nope, I was going to try that as next step but didn't know if that would help. Only reason I asked about the epidural was because it happened after having one and had no previous problems.
Will give the physiotherapy a try.

Sorry i read your post as 'DS2 years ago' which is why I thought 2 pregnancies, but even one pregnancy is enough to cause chronic back ache. Pregnancy changes your centre of gravity so the muscles stretch and work differently as well as relaxing the ligaments in your pelvis and around your spine. If the ligaments are over stretched they don't contract back again meaning the muscles will always have to work harder to stabilise you.
What sort of birth did you have? Positioning at birth is always important when it comes to back ache. On your back with legs up in lithotomy or held up by midwife etc. is the absolute worst.
I do think physio is your best option as to date there is no conclusive evidence that epidurals cause long term backache.
