Induced vs spontaneous contractions

Has anyone experienced both spontaneous and induced (with drip) labours and can tell me if contractions felt any different in terms of how painful they were?

I got put on drip during Labour yo speed things along - each contraction felt the same but they were more frequent

ime they felt he same.
induced they were closer apart and not quite as intense, though.
both labour were fine, though, hurt like childbirth but was bearable.

I think you'd have to have lots of children before you could really compare as so much depends on the position of te baby (and the position of the mother). My induced labour was intensely painful (until I had a lovely epidural) but for various reasons I was flat on my back the whole way through. Friends who had non-induce labours said that was the worst position so I don't know how much can be attributed to that.

I experienced them v different, but with hindsight am not sure whether I just coped better with 'natural' contractions because I knew what to expect IYKWIM.

I had an epidural for my induction and needed no painrelief other than gas and air with my VBs.

My induced birth (dd1) was much more intense but not sure if this was due to complications I had, cord wrapped around baby's leg and waters hadnt broken properly, all resulting in ventouse delivery. My dd2 natural birth seemed less painful in comparison.

I was given Syntocinon (induction drip) for the last 2 hrs of my 32 hr labour, and it intensified the contractions which ad died off a bit, but I'd had an epidural by then so it's hard to gauge. Because the contractions became more productive I think I found them far more manageable, but this is after a long period of no progress. It's worth knowing that it doesn't have to be 0-60 with induction hormones - with me they put me on a very low dose, just enough to get things moving and kept a close eye on it. I was scared of induction drip before I had it but actually it was fine and did the job - baby was out 3hrs after drip was hooked up.

Thanks for your replies. I was induced with my first and it was all very quick and intense (I think I went from 2 to 10 cm within a few hours). I thought the contractions after pessary were totally managable but after they attached me to the drip I was in complete agony and asked for epidural almost straight away. I am trying to figure out whether I'll be able to cope better with a more natural and gradual labour or if it would feel just as bad. Ideally I would like less pain relief this time.....
