Have you upped your activity levels today? It's normally a sign you're doing too much too soon

My baby is 3 weeks and mine was heavy, light, heavy....it was all dependant on what I was doing during the day. On day 10 I was really light but the midwife said it would prob get heavier that day as I was going Xmas shopping and she was right.

I passed a few clots too

cantheyseeme · 20/12/2013 20:20

Hmmm kind of not really stopped since being home, cant sit and do nothing it drives me insane Confused
Maybe I should slow down then.

If you're passing noticable clots its worth getting the midwife to check. It can be a sign of retained products and warrants monitoring.

cantheyseeme · 20/12/2013 20:41

It was only one clot and i dont think its retained placenta or anything as i had a section, im seeing the midwife tomorrow shes told me keep taking iron Smile

I was told so long as the clots are smaller than an apple it was ok. You're doing too much. Rest.

cantheyseeme · 20/12/2013 20:51

An apple?! Jesus i think id call an ambulance if an apple came out of me!!

I had a c section in April for my twins and had retained products....they discovered 4 weeks later after 3 trips back to the hospital with heavy bleeding. I felt like such an idiot each time because they just said it was normal. It's difficult to comprehend how they can leave some placenta in there when you're open in front of them, but it can happen.

It's probably just that you're overdoing it but if you're worried go see your GP, don't feel silly and if it is the case it's a simple thing to sort out. You need to be fit and well for your baby Smile congrats by the way, I'm broody again already!!

cantheyseeme · 21/12/2013 09:37

Ty kate, it has gone really light again think im just gonna have to slow down a bit, thats madness that they kept sending you home!

I know, the twins were in the neonatal unit so they said it was the travelling/walking through the hospital etc. I was so lethargic.

It's very rare though with a c section so I'm sure it's just that you're overdoing it. It's scary though isn't it, and every time you stand up you have to go and have a change!! Grrr. Sounds like your bleeding is normal though, it would have a foul smell if you had retained products (sorry TMI) Smile

Have a great Christmas!!

cantheyseeme · 21/12/2013 14:43

MW said as much, she said if anything changes just get some antibiotics from the gp Smile
Have a lovely Christmas also Grin
