Okay this is my second baby and am 38+6. I had a show on Monday that lasted until Tuesday night and had regular, fairly painful contractions Monday evening and Tuesday evening, every 8 minutes, however they stopped at bedtime.
Think I might be leaking water occassionally. My son was a week early and with him I had a show then my waters broke the same day and I had him 20 hours later, straight forward.
Please can someone tell me that these are all good signs and that this baby will be here soon!!

Sound like it - with my second I had contractions every night for 10 days over his due date. Every night I thought i was going into labour but it never came to anything. The problem was that I was worried about who was going to watch DS1 - I had a bunch of friends on standby but it depended on the day/time as to who I was supposed to call. It was very complicated.

And then my sister arrived to stay and within an hour of her arriving, my waters broke and voila, out he came 2.5 hours later. I think once I knew there was someone there to watch my first son, my body relaxed and just did it. So maybe consider if there's something like that that's holding your body back - because all the signs sound like it's on its way. Good luck

Yes I agree with J&J. Is there anything you're worried about? Anything unresolved? Try to find practical solutions to any problems which are niggling and labour might well follow.

These are indeed good signs though and I wish you well with this labour and birth. x

How funny, my friend said the same thing today. I have been worried about breastfeeding and coping with tiredness. But I feel more relaxed today so who knows.

In hypnobirthing there is a 'balloon release' visualisation where you imagine going up in a hot air balloon with a little parcel - in the parcel is whatever is worrying you, you then drop the parcel over the side of the hot air balloon and you drift away far lighter without the burden. You need to be really relaxed and just try to picture it.

Have to say, it didn't work for me though but it might for you.

It does sound like it. I've had a good two weeks of pretty heavy duty "limbering up " before all my babies. The braxton hicks would become unbearable especially during the evening and night. The pains would be as regular as clockwork for a good few hours and then as down came they would stop. Another night's sleep down the pan!! Good luck
