Hi
Was diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 29w and put on metformin, soon afterwards blood pressure started going high, protein and ketones in urine were found and all got progressively worse and i have had a few hospital stays.
im now in until baby is born and yesterday they decided to plan for birth as things are worsening despite a shed load of drugs (nifidipene, clexane, metformin, ranitidine, steroids etc)

I am to be induced sunday afternoon when i will be 35w4 and i have no idea what to expect after the induction has started. I know the basics ie internal, heartbeat trace, pessary/gel then wait to see if its repeated or labour starts then i would get moved to labour ward.

Its from here i hope someone can advise me. with the pre eclampsia and high blood pressure how long will they let me try to labour for? what complications could there be? Will my diabetes be an issue (recent regular hypos since steroids were given)? Will i need to be kept laying down? Am i heading for a Csection? Aftercare for baby?

So much to think about and being stuck in hospital i cant google much

Hi I was hospitalised at 33 wk with pre eclampsia, I was induced at 37 wk and had been told I was likely to need c section due to blood pressure rising. I was induced at 7pm ish and had my dd at 8am ish, birth straightforward and amazingly despite my b pressure being scaringly high for weeks it remained steady and at its lowest during the birth so try to stay positive, it could be better than you may think x

I was induced at 36 weeks for pre-eclampsia - which ended in section due to oxygen deprivation and distress of DD. I was given a sweep which was agonising (and as I found out later pointless in the view of the midwives) as I was too early for it to have any effect and then had a second one which I should have refused as I was in tears throughout.

I was kept in a week afterwards as BP stayed high but then let out with pills and referred to GP for a few weeks afterwards.

Hope your birth goes smoothly.
