I got induced as my waters had broken and labour hadn't started 36 hours later. Even though I wasn't overdue

At my hospital they induce from 10 days over I think

12 days over at my hospital, I face the dreaded induction on Monday Hmm

justhayley · 21/11/2013 23:40

Between 41-42 weeks depending on the hospital. Miine wouldnt do it till 42 weeks unless it was twins. My friend was booked in for 1 at 41+1 although is in labour as we speak so it won't be needed Grin

12 days over at my hospital too. Think that's to allow for two days of waiting for labour to start afterwards.

12+ days here but you can refuse up untill 16 days over my mw told me that wen i was expecting dc3 i thought ppl must be mad to do that lol

glorious · 22/11/2013 22:44

13 here. You can refuse as long as you like - your consent is required as for any medical treatment. Indeed the NIHCE guidance recommends induction but says that monitoring should be offered as an alternative. That's not to say that everyone should refuse, I'm just mentioning it because often people don't realise they have a choice.

I was induced finally at 3 weeks over - kept turning up but they had no beds till then. Pessary first and then when that didn't work drip and they broke my waters - resulted in beautiful baby girl

It varies from health board to health board.
You'll get offered an induction from 40 to 42 weeks - depending on policy and circumstances.
You do not have to agree to induction - monitoring is another option.

I was induced at T+15 after it had been offered a week before and I declined.
By the time I was 2 weeks over EDD I got cold feet.
It was a lovely delivery btw.

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/11/2013 22:00

In my case never, as I never would consent.

If the baby is in danger cut me and get him out now, otherwise leave him where he can deal with his own poo and feed himself.

PinkParsnips · 27/11/2013 03:46

I was induced at 40+10

BraveLilBear · 27/11/2013 16:46

Depends on the Trust - mine is ten days over for being overdue but there are other reasons for induction eg pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes.

Like handbags above I was induce 40 hours after waters broke (although should have been after 30 - they didn't have room for me on the delivery suite Hmm ) and that was straight to drip.

DaleyBump · 02/12/2013 18:14

I was induced at 39+3 due to repeated reduced fetal movement.

PenguinsDontEatPancakes · 02/12/2013 19:52

+14 or +15 is the recommended induction date in my area if no other complications.
