I've had one already but used a mattress on the living room floor. Can't remember getting anything special in just having old towels and blankets ready.

This time i want to be in my bedroom on my own lovely bed. Do i need plastic sheets? I've heard shower curtain mentioned before? Does it go on the bed?

(I'm not having a pool or anything.)

My head is so tuned into Christmas prep I need help to focus on childbirth...

TIA

Portable heaters. Hot water bottle. Wilkos does plastic dust sheets for a pound. Biscuits for the midwives. Champagne for you.

I delivered on our bed (white sheet on the bottom!) We just used a very thin plastic decorator's sheet on top of that and then used an old duvet cover on top of that. The midwives brought absorbent mats that they stuffed under me when the waters went and during delivery.

White sheet was unblemished! :)

Thank you. Sounds like i don't need to go overboard on plastic sheets etc then.
