Over the moon to be preg again but not sure if my body can cope with another vag delivery.

With DC1 had an episiotomy to allow delivery, DC2 was left to tear.then stiches...and its never felt quite the same at all. Also embarrassingly....I still suffer even now 5 years on from DC2 with bad piles and sometimes if needing a wee can leak a bit if I cough, sneeze etc.

All of this combined .....should I try and beg for an elective c-section?

Thanks!!!

I have had two EMCS and have piles and leak wee if I cough and sneeze (before I got pregnant with dc3 too, now 26 weeks). Pregnancy itself can cause those to get worse, the best thing is to avoid constipation (diet, lactulose, lots of water to drink), see your GP about haemorrhoid treatment and do pelvic floor exercises (you can buy special gadgets to help).

Re: the CS question, it is a painful recovery from major abdominal surgery especially with other children, not an easy option. No lifting for six weeks, possible scar infections. I wanted to have a VBA2C this time to avoid this, but may end up with another CS due to placenta praevia.

You have to make the best choice for you, but make sure you have read all the facts about CS risks and benefits before you decide and talk it over with a consultant. Nice guidance here.

Really appreciate your honesty I could cry tbh! Have been feeling alone and a bit ashamed in all of this and finally being able to share and know someone else is/has experienced similar is v comforting.

So thank you.

You are welcome, I think you will find a lot of ladies on here have had post-birth changes in their pelvic floor and piles. Nothing to be embarrassed about, just part of what happens when you carry a large melon sized baby inside you for months then push them out. After my first child I felt like everything was out of place inside for months as well as the piles and incontinence when sneezing.

If your piles are very painful you can get paracetamol suppositories and special haemorrhoid suppositories and creams from the GP. Sitting on a latex donut ring can help too (loads on Ebay for reasonable price).

Squeeze when you sneeze is a good moto that the ladies on my antenatal thread are following.

Oh and congratulations on dc3 Thanks
