Is it possible to get back pain 8 months after an epidural?

This week I've been hit by constant back ache and head aches that seem to originate from the spot where my epidural went in.

My DD was born 8 months ago and I wondered if it's just coincidence, or if anyone else had experienced this?

Im not sure whether it is a coincidence or not as I have had fairly consistent back pain since my epidural .... and it definitely gets worse mornings and evenings when I have a tendency to seize up!

you can get a leak were the needle went into the spinal cord. speak to the gp.

Chances are its cos you are carrying a very much heavier dd, altering your posture habits by sitting her on your hip and perhaps may not have regained your normal muscle strength post baby yet, all good reasons for back pain. 8mo post epidural would have no relevance at all. If you were going to get a dural headache you would have had it in the first 72hrs! so there would be no leak at this stage. I speak as a physio and the wife of an anaesthetist. I've also had an epidural, and 3 spinals and I dont have any back pain other than from doing too much digging in the veg patch or from carrying around dd (18mo)in high heels!

Do check with GP re refferal to see a physio or osteo for some treatment so you can get rid of it asap.

Yes lower back pain is probably caused by HUGE baby

Ask you GP to refer you to the physio

You will need a LOT of water in this heat - particularly if breastfeeding. Could that be causing the headaches?
