This is my first post so im still a bit rusty on all the abbreviations!! My DD is 2 weeks old and the last few days iv had the worst headaches...Im still losing blood so wondered if it could be like a menstrual headache.Anyone else had this problem?? I cant even blame it on lack of sleeping cus DD hasnt been that bad.

Thanks in advance xx

Did you ahve an epidural?
ARe you drinking enough?
How much blood are you still loosing ? If a lot.... it's a sign you're probably doing too much on your feet

My DS is 8 wks. I also had really bad headaches for first 2/3 weeks. I think they were tension headaches - caused by lack of sleep (DS is very, very good but my sleep was still broken), forgetting to eat and drink, and hormones settling down. They have gone now - all settled down once I started looking after myself a bit better.
Have you spoken to your midwife or health visitor?

I did have an epidural and am prob not drinking enough. I think it may be tension headaches as pain killers arnt really working but relaxation eases them. i think all the things you've said (broken sleep, diet, hormones etc) are prob the cause. It's just reassuring to know that someone else has suffered from them so i can stop imagining that i have a brain tumour or something equally nasty!!

Thanks loads for your comments xx

I also had an epidural, was never told that headaches could be a side effect. Did mention them to m/wife and she didn't mention epidural could be a cause.

I agree with you Sparkleo about it being like tension headaches.

Hope you feel better soon.

Try drinking a lot more, but if they do persist i would go see GP..

Thanks Kayzed...loads of info on epidural headache's on google - none of which i had a clue about. I may have been told about side effects at the time, but to be honest i was just eager for anaesthetist to get on wiv it lol. Thanks for all your comments. xx
