Poor you, no tips but could it just be the stress of it? You'll be ok tho, even with a cold. Congrats in advance x

A week to go. The cold will be done in 4 or 5 days. It won't affect the surgery at all.

Congrats btw Grin. Aaahhhh. A small lovely squishy baby. Enjoy Smile

Btw veteran of emcs and elcs. Didn't have a cold for either as far as I can recall.

Tea with Manuka honey perhaps? It's supposed to help with infection. No idea if it works.

I know your first seems scary. Bit overwhelming. Don't be. It's wonderful. Hard work but amazing.

The CS will be great. An elcs is a calm and lovely experience.

It's all very emotional. Expect to cry years of joy.

Few words of advice regarding yourself. Avoid fake tan!! Avoid avoid avoid!!! I fake tanned before both births and the combo of hormones and drugs means you sweat so much (attractive ) that it sort of rubs off leaving your steaky dirty looking. Not good. Do avoid.

Also bring massive knickers which reach your belly button to hospital! Seriously. You need something which sits over scar. Ditto for trousers.

And also expect to still look pregnant for several months afterwards. Don't want to alarm you but no one told me and I assumed I'd look normal afterwards (doh I put on 6 stone due to gestational diabetes so how did I conclude that!). Unless of course you are very young or very slim still. Don't worry I have 12lbs to go and back in old clothes. My youngest is 2 but the first time it only took a year to loose the weight and I didn't try that hard (too much coffee and cake in Starbucks).

Sorry hope I am not terrifying you! Not my intention. I wish someone had told me.

Also have family on hand for when your DH goes back to work to help with housework and lifting etc for first week weeks. Honestly. It just helps you heal and recover. Childbirth is hard work which ever way it's done. And recovering from pregnancy is also tiring. Help is vital. Those interfering PILs will be a godsend.

And obviously you'll have a lovely squishy baby. Lucky you. So cute. And those first little smiles after a few weeks. Just so much cuteness. Makes me feel emotional. Enjoy. Grin
