Milk coming in

I had a c-section on Wednesday and my milk came in today. Oh my god, they are more painful than anything I've been through the last week. I am not breastfeeding. Can anyone recommend any way to hurry up the 'drying up process.' They are so sore I can't sleep, they are heavy and swollen and over flowing. Any help would be gratefully received

Cabbage leaves in your bra are supposed to help.

You might want to check/google this but I have a feeling decongestants such as sudafed are supposed to work. Not sure how successfully.

Thanks. I can't believe this pain in normal! Midwifes out tomorrow so will ask her for any tips!

I think there is also something you can get on prescription, so ask your midwife, congrats on your baby by the way!

Sudafed is quite effective.

I just went through this...I feel for you op as its agony! I bound my boobs up really tightly in a pre-maternity sports bra, which I also wore overnight. Also drank peppermint tea and took lots ibuprofen for the pain. The pain went after 2-3 days. I bought sudafed but didn't use as I thought it wouldn't mix well with the anti DVT medicine I'd been given from the hospital. Good luck op. and congrats on the baby!

I am the same, had my section last Monday. Was prescribed dostinex by my doctor. If you leave them to dry out naturally you can get mastitis and be very unwell, my doc would not let me do this.
