I am 10 days on from an ELCS and have had so many horrible ailments to contend with. The most tricky was terrible constipation caused by codeine, which was so traumatic I stopped the codeine cold, as it just wasn't worth it! I now have the most terrible stinging sensation when I wee... It's just come on abruptly. I was worried it was a UTI, possible caused by the bad constipation as wee was backed up due to , er, pressure on the bladder I expect (sorry tmi) but reminded self that a) I am on strong antibiotics as midwife was worried my wound might get infected after beaded stitches came out so put me on it, and b) the sensation is more on the skin around the area, so it stings like a beast when the wee hits it, rather than stinging from within the actual weeing apparatus, if you get my meaning. it is so weird. can anyone relate or think what or why this could be?

Can't face going to doctor AGAIN....with more ailments....to tired and just want to feel normal for one day. sick to death of new problems and agonies everyday....

Could it be irritation or injury caused by the catheter?

Hiya
Sorry I'm not sure what the pain is caused by but I had some similar pain a few days ago and I'm now exactly two weeks since my emcs. It only lasted a day or so. I wanted to just say that you're not alone and I've had lots of nonsense ailments too, also including many trips to my GP/midwife/hospital but today I feel vaguely human for the first time and am finally starting to consider reducing my millions of painkillers!
Anyway. This was a bit of a ramble but I just wanted to say hang on in there and I hope it starts to get better really soon.

Thank you both so much - it is so reassuring to hear I am not the only one in this boat...and never thought of thrush - I have never had it but that would make sense! I'll investigate. Thank you & yey mumsnet.

i panicked at about the same time about uti, but drunk loads of water and decided to monitor for a day or so, eventually i decided that it was uterous contractions whilst i was peeing and the pain went away (or at least wasn´t so obviously only when peeing or not every wee)

obviously if it gets worse or doesn´t stop go to the doctor!

Thanks
