If you had SPD, did contractions feel like SPD stabby pains only much stronger?

Or did your contractions feel like they 'should' (everyone's different i know)

I'm a second timer so I want to know whether I can expect similar contraction pain as last time, when I didn't have SPD.

Or were your pains different each time??

Thanks for any experiences!

My contractions always felt quite different - started at top, hurt like hell, spread down till all tight short restbite then repeat. Quite different to any spd pains. You might be getting braxton hicks which are more common in subsequent pregnancy. My stomach is now contracting in sympathy!

Thanks bunnies!! Mine weren't like that at all... I felt like someone had inserted a g clamp in my pelvis and was cranking it open. No stomach or back pain at all. I don't know anyone else who had this.
I've only got 5 days till edd and although it's my second, I'm now doing that thing where your memory comes back just enough to make you go 'oh yeah. Shiiiit this hurt last time, forgot about that bit!'
Re the BH, I didn't think I had those last time either. I'm reliably informed that what I thought was the baby having a good stretch / roll is actually BH. Who knew!

I had SPD in both my last pregnancys and when I was in labor had no idea at all until the baby actually came out,the contractions felt no different to the pain I normally felt.

But that may very well be because I have a few mobility type issues so lots of things in that area are a bit odd.

Yes, especially 2nd time. Spent evening moaning that I was going to have to hire a wheelchair again after all, kept waking up every 15min with it, then 10, then went 'doh!' around 5am...

First time was more like period pain.

Thank you pixie and citrus. I'm sitting down quietly ie doing nothing that normally exacerbates the spd and every now and then get a stab that makes me jump and my eyes widen... This could be it, then? Am 39+4. Fingers crossed!

My spd didn't really make any difference in labour (3rd baby so two non spd labours before). It was about twice as quick but don't think that was due to spd....it then took about 2-3 weeks for the spd to go fully after labour but its a distant memory now (5 months on).
