Have started reading this book and wondering whether it was worth doing , interested in other mnetter who found it useful for childbirth, ( last time had a horrid time so keen to avoid it this time around but not sure if i can do the no wheat no sugar thing.

I'm half heartedly following the diet - no wheat has been surprisingly easy because I found out it made me feel less sick, but I've skipped the bizarre stuff (no cheese or chiles??).

My big problem is that I can't find anyone apart from GM's clinic that actually offers the treatments you're supposed to have - and I live in central London.

I would also be interested to hear from anyone other than Elle McPherson who's found it successful.

no cheese or chillis - didnr come accros that bit , seems really aboput making a small baby - and therefore easier to deliever -but will everyone be healthy is one of my worries and to do without so many foods i love without the gaunrantee that it will work ,, not sure what to do , its such an investment.

Heard about this, but not read it. The size of the baby does not necessarily relate to the ease of the birth. I had a horrible time with my first, but my second was half a pound larger at 9lb 3oz and had a much more pleasant birth (if you can call childbirth 'pleasant' Smile). Women do give birth to 10lb+ babies without excessive distress, and can have a distressing birth with a relatively small baby too. A good birth weight is a good thing, there's no advantage to having a small baby.

Besides, if it's your second vaginal birth then it will be so much easier than the first in any case, as you will have stretched already and your body 'knows' what it has to do. If you have issues from your first labour, address them with the midwife or with counselling. I did this and it made a world of a difference to how I approached my second labour. And the 'good' second labour totally cancelled out the 'bad' first labour.
