Hospital gave me disposable net pants for straight after the operation, then I used asda big pants. I wouldn't bother with disposable ones.

I had a c section, took both disposable and some large cotton monstrosities from primark in my hospital bag. The disposable ones never got used as the cotton ones were way more comfy. I wouldn't buy the disposable ones if you have some big pants instead.

And for the first 24 hours you might not be wearing either anyway because of the catheter.

Best of luck

No get some granny knickers from primark £2 a pack

noblegiraffe · 31/08/2013 11:04

When I say hospital gave me some net pants, I actually mean they put them on me during the section. I can't remember it at all as I was cooing over my new baby, but when they took the catheter out I had pants and a maternity pad on!

I went for the big cotton pants from a supermarket too, they just need to be over the scar area. They were a similar price to the disposables.

valiumredhead · 31/08/2013 11:11

No, just big cotton ones.

MunchkinJess · 31/08/2013 11:14

Defo don't bother with disposable ones...I chucked mine.

I had a c section too, and ended up in hosp. for longer than anticipated. I recommend getting the highest waisted ones you can find, so comfy and the elastic gets nowhere near your scar.

Good luck!

Do pack decent snacks in your bag. My ELCS didn't happen till 3:30pm, I'd been nil by mouth since midnight and by the time I got down to the ward and was allowed to eat, dinner was over, visiting hours finished and all the nurse could bring me was toast. I had jelly babies in my bag which just about kept me going till breakfast.

The Tena lady pants are much better. Far more comfortable.

MotherOfNations · 31/08/2013 11:32

In 5 weeks I'll be having my 5th section.Big asda pants and tena lady instead of maternity pads here. Take double what you think you'll need. You will more than likely leak.

FlyLikeABird · 02/09/2013 13:27

Second tena pants (or cheaper versions) they were fab.

I bought disposable ones, then ballooned in size in my last month of pregnancy so after the birth they embarrassingly wouldn't fit.
