Sad

had antenatal clinic this pm- Dr thinks im still breech but no sonographer available to confirm so I have to go back tomorrow.

Bit scared as i have read horror stories about ECV. Not many options other than that are there??

I had acupuncture and moxibustion. both apparently have good success rates. I was also lined up to try the Webster technique which is chiropractic.

baby had other ideas and arrived at 37+3. Grin.

My daughter was breech, and I had an emergency c section two weeks ago. Was absolutely fine, I feel great and she is perfect! Try not to worry if a c section is required.

Is this your first baby? ECV has less success for first as you have lovely firm tummy muscles. My dd was breach and I had ECV successfully. I decided to give it a go to avoid a section on the basis if it was too painful imcouldmask them to stop. Not painful at all and successful so would certainly do it again if the one I am carrying now turns out t be breech.

It's my third and I can safely say that I do not have firm stomach muscles by any stretch of the imagination!

How do you feel now familyguyfan? And how long did you stay in hospital for after your csection?

I'm trying not to be anxious about this.

don't be anxious! it will work out. I staying in 2 nights and now one week on am feeling really good. I can't lift dd1 sadly but I can do lots of other things and am in no pain at all. can move around in bed better than the last 6 months already.

Scoobyblue · 28/08/2013 07:58

I had ECV with my first. No horror story here. Was uncomfortable but not painful and it worked. Dd arrived on her due date a couple of weeks later with no probs. I would definitely do it again if needed.

Tiredemma · 28/08/2013 07:58

Can't lift dd? How are you managing to feed ect?

My DD is two and a half weeks old today and I feel absolutely great. Had a bit of a difficult pregnancy so feel better than I've felt in months. No pain, couple of aches but nothing needing painkillers.

This is my second child so I was keen to be out of hospital as quickly as possible. We were in two days. Not picking up my DD1 has been a bit of a pain, but we still have lots of hugs, I just don't pick her up. Yet!

Seriously, people have very mixed experiences but it was absolutely fine for me and I wouldn't write it off. It was necessary and it worked. Job done!!

Familyguyfan · 28/08/2013 09:31

Meant to say 'best of luck!'

poocatcherchampion · 28/08/2013 12:18

sorry! can lift dd2 who is not an 18mo lump! dd1 is the big sister who also needs cuddles, but dd2 seems like a little marshmallow in my arms
Grin.

had a presentation scan at hospital- very much breech and in quite an awkward position (like some contortionist!). weighed up options- midwife was lovely and very frank with me- said position was one of the most difficult to turn.

Met with Dr who went through options and left me and DP to discuss for a while. Ive decided not to have ECV- especially as it only has 50% success rate and given the presentation etc.

Booked in for Elective C Section on September 9th.

Obviously if I go into labour before that then I will need to have emergency section.

thanks for all your advice

Baby can still turn, my dd did 2 days before my section (was transverse) and she was a10 lb+ baby.
