Any recommendations for home birth pool hire?

I am in East Anglia and from a brief look on the internet it looks as though there are dozens of companies out there. Has anyone got any positive (or negative) recommendations? I am due 14 Oct so need to make a decision soon. Thanks in advance!

Is there any reason to hire rather than buy? I bought the Birth Pool in a Box kit via Boots and was really happy with it. The MW commented on how comfy it was to lean on etc compared to the hard ones.

I hired mine from here: www.waterbabybirthingpoolhire.co.uk/

Just under £100 for 5 weeks and you get everything you need with it - hoses, pumps, liner etc etc. Very simple and easy - would recommend.

I hired one from Birth Pools Online link here

Really couldn't recommend them enough.

They're in Essex /East London area, courier delivery or collection or option to pickup for cheaper. I picked mine up and had it for 6 weeks for £245.

They're 5ft by 5ft, quick and easy to set up, not inflatable, heated and easy to set temperature, come with 2 brand new filters, disinfectant spa tablets, clothes, dettol spray, mirror, torch, hoses to fill and empty, waterproof tarp, soft foam edging, lining, fast pump to empty.

I loved floating about in it during the evenings on maternity leave, to take the weight off and relax my hips. I used the provided disinfectant tablets daily and only had to change the water twice while I had it - which was quick and simple enough.

The company seem flexible if you need it for a bit longer and didn't charge me anything extra.

It's worth asking your community midwife if they have one for loan. Mine did, though I didn't find out til I had already bought a pool.

Hi - thanks to all of you for the ideas. I don't think I want to buy one because what would I do with it after? I think I will hire one from celia's suggested company. The idea of floating around during mat leave sounds nice but I doubt I would actually do it. I will check with my midwife team too.

I bought mine and have used it twice, then lent to to many friends etc (with a clean liner). It was cheaper than hire which was the decider for me.
