I have bought a extortionately expensive, guilt doll to open at the hospital, and a photo album with pictures in it of when she was a baby in hospital.

I have also bought a jigsaw, shopping list game, sticker books... but these are intended to give her sporadically at home to keep her busy when I am preoccupied. (and I never usually buy her stuff, honest!)

I will be adding chocolate buttons to my hospital present bag now tho!

DS1 at 2.5 received a copy of the Tiger who came to Tea with audio CD (since we'd had it from library several times and he loved it and I though he might find listening to it quite exciting.... Happy at the time, hid it once home and refused to read it for several weeks but adjusted quickly and seems to enjoy his wee brother (and the book) now.

Nothing. What a strange idea.

I found TV came in very handy when the baby came home.

Dd1 got a tricycle from dd2. It was only because we saw one we liked.

Dd1 loved it. It was 'what baby????' She wasn't too bothered by baby then, and just headed to the garden on her new tricycle, and off to the park with daddy.

There was a mini dolls house sitting in DS's cot when DD came to meet him at the hospital. 10months later she still talks about DS bringing a dolls house for her when he was born which is lovely.

I left it late ordering the dolls house and DS was a week early. The dolls house arrived the day he was born. The stress I had while in labour (good distraction?) about whether it would arrive in time, then getting it wrapped and to the hospital before DD got there...

We weren't going to give dd anything but as ds and I were in hospital for two weeks we have her a doctors kit (it was going to be a Christmas present anyway).

I just got a dvd we could watch together while I was feeding. But we also put DD1 in charge of opening the presents that people brought for DD2. She loved it. I think some of these sound pretty excessive, to be honest, but each to their own. Smile

Little things to keep her occupied, a floor puzzle, dominoes and some fuzzy felt.
She's 2.8 and wrapped up a Lamaze cat and a Minnie outfit for her new DSis, she's very excited about giving them when this baby decides to make an appearance.

We've got DD (4y) a pram and a dolls cot (both cheap off ebay). She has just started to take more interest in her dolls and we were planning to get her a pram anyway. This was she can play at being mummy alongside me. That's the plan anyway!

DD is desperate to start shopping for DS, due in October. She wants to get him a teddy and a little outfit, so I thought we'd get her something cuddly and a new outfit from him too. That way it's like they both had the same idea (bit cheesy, I know).
Otherwise I love the idea of her being in charge of present opening for him, she does quite like being in charge Smile

Hahaha... Redlips so does my DD most of the time, although not long ago, as I was putting her to bed, she sighed and said "I don't like being the boss of this house any more." Grin

Dd (3) is getting a doc mcstuffins doll which she forfeited in toysrus by being really naughty halfway round, a month ago. So she won't be expecting it.

Ds (6) is getting that "hilarious" dog poo game which I have so far refused to buy for him on principle. (The baby is obviously far more lenient than Mummy, I hope it endears her to him!)

Our DS is really into Disney Cars so he got puzzles from DD. He showed everyone who came to visit!
Agree with small presents for the big brothers/sisters when baby gets a present.

A tinga tinga monkey because DS1 loves the programme and we knew it would temporarily make the baby v popular.
Plus it was cheap and small Grin
