So, my due date was Wednesday and I spent the entire day walking. I had a sweep yesterday. Started feeling a bit weird and getting tightenings all through the day and into the evening. Went to bed last night and felt them get stronger, so much so I was sick. Finally fell asleep about 2am and have been up since 5am but it all seems to have stopped now that I've slept. I really thought this was it. Is this normal? What can I do to get things going again?

I was induced at 41+3 with dc1 so I don't have the experience of it coming on naturally, and really want to avoid going through an induction again.

I've been eating pineapple, drinking raspberry leaf tea, rubbing clary sage oil into my belly but nothing is working :(

DP took me on one of his 'short walks'.... 5 miles later... !!! Then a two days later - bingo. I'm convinced it got things moving

steffanoid sorry to hear of your loss. Mine isn't so raw, 15 years ago but still might feel a bit weird if it happened on the same day.

igirisu yep still here. It's so frustrating. I think I might have had a bit of a false labour on Thursday after my sweep. Had an awful afternoon yesterday with my ds who was shattered, refused to sleep and subsequently spent the whole day whining and crying about everything. I think baby thought better of coming out as everything has totally stopped. I don't think my stress levels helped either :( We had DH's parents on red alert too and had to stand them down. Keep getting the calls asking what's happening too.

I have an appointment on Tuesday at the hospital so Im going to ask for another sweep then if nothing happens I just want to be induced on Friday. I'm already measuring a week bigger then my dates and am dreading the thought of being turned inside out as it is without letting baby get any bloody bigger.

I like the idea of tiramisu! Going to take another long walk this afternoon after cleaning the house again

Sex/mastibation DD1/DD2 sorry, but true.

I spent an afternoon laughing hysterically with my DM. Can't remember what at now, but it was proper tears of laughter, side hurting, can't catch your breath laughing. Convinced that's what set me off the same night!

startail as DH is less than keen on the sex I was thinking about the other, but wasn't sure if it would work. Looks like an early night for me is the next tactic :)

DD1 was small for dates and due to be induced the next day, so we knew it would be the last chance for a while.

I think DD1 knew she was running out of food and it was time to be born.

DD2 was 39+5 and actually not much bigger than DD1, so I suspect she knew it was time too.

All the best and hope it goes well. I suspect I miss a lot of discomfort having slightly early 6lb + babies.
