HB equipment question

Hi, have booked to have DC2, am 35+1, at home and MW has recommended a good quality waterproof shower curtain to protect the carpet :)

Any idea where I can get one? I know some are only water resistant and probably not up to the job...

Thanks

I had a piece of tarpaulin from builders merchant. There was very little mess to be honest, old towels to soak up most off it will help too.

Had my HB last week :-)

I just put an old double duvet and pillows on the floor (comfy to lie/stand on) and the midwives put some of those padded matts they have in hospital on top. But a waterproof shower curtain underneath would give peace of mind.

There's not half as much mess as you'd think, and the MWs clear it all up afterwards. Half an hour after she was born i was on the sofa with a cuppa and a living room with no sign i'd just had a baby in!

Also have some old towels handy, i had one for me to wrap up in after until i had a bath, and another for DD.

Good luck :-)

Oh, i also bought a waterproof (not just resistant) matress cover for the bed, was going to put it on top of made bed with an old sheet on top so i could whip it off and the bed would be ready to sleep in. As it turns out i stayed downstairs so it's going back to the shop for a refund unopened (£11.99 argos) but glad i had it just in case i had used the bed.

I got waterproof dust sheets from Wilkinsons. About £1.50 I think.
