I'm 37+6, and really don't know what's going on Hmm

First baby, lots of period type cramps and pressure from baby pushing down since last Thursday, spoke to midwife Saturday who said its baby getting into position. But it's still going on and getting worse tonight Confused

Lots of lower back pain, stronger pains but a constant ache when the strong pains go, no show and no waters breaking (I don't think but lots of discharge, sorry if tmi!), no hard bump feeling.

Anyone else had this? Do I have this to look forward to for the next 2 weeks because I don't think I can deal with it! Confused

This can go on for a good while!

That's what I was worried about Hmm

If your waters are leaking you should probably ring delivery/labour ward - can be an increased risk of infection if they are leaking too long...

GOOD LUCK!

So I'm not in labour, but baby's head is fully engaged which is good. However cervix posterior and 50% effaced. Anyone know what effaced is? Not had this explained to me Shock

So basically, the pains are the baby pushing against my cervix to get it to come forward so these pains could push me into labour or they could just fizzle out Hmm

Effaced means thinned out. Basically your cervix has to thin and get very soft before it begins to open. Posterior means its facing back, so it needs to come forwards a bit so that the babys head is pushing down on it.

Great signs for your stage - try not to get stressed with it, you aren't even due yet! Just relax, have walks and be excited :)

Think I had a show early hours this morning, was mucousy with blood streaks but wasn't as much as I expected?

Show can happen at any time from a few weeks before labour to right in the middle of it, but it is a sign that things are starting. Just not necessarily immediately :)
