Prolapse after forcep delivery?

May be tmi, so apologies in advance.
I had a horrible induced labour which ended in a barbaric forcep delivery.
I was left faecally incontinent and looked horrible down below, lumps and scar tissue.
Luckily the incontinence is getting better, but I have had another blow.
My first period after the baby, I used pads as I thought things may still be getting better, the second period I tried to go back to tampons, although I could get them in, it felt like they weren't high enough and I could feel it all the time. Again I thought it maybe too soon, on my third period I tried again and couldn't even get the length of the tampon inside!! I put my finger in and could feel what I think is my cervix about an inch inside!!!
I know the cervix drops during a period so I checked again after it had finished and although the cervix is higher I can still feel it just by putting a finger inside, Have I suffered a prolapse too? I have made a doctors appt but wondered if anyone could help me.
During my life I have never been able to reach my cervix and even doctors in the past have commented about how high it was, I am gutted as I was just feeling ready for sex to resume but now I daren't do it in case he hits it!! I really don't need anymore problems, I already have days when I wish I hadn't bothered having a baby at all and it feels like one problem after another!!

Impala and Kay Please both feel free to come over to the Raggedies Thread, there's a number of ladies who have been through what we have and can offer some really good advice and are all at different stages of operations.

Musttidyup - it was 100% worth it. I had it done when dd was 12weeks. I was really sore for a week, but didn't need anything more than paracetamol and ibuprofen which I stopped taking after about a fortnight. Stool softeners were my friend! I was advised to have 2-3 baths a day, especially after doing a poo and I stuck to that regime religiously for a good month. I went privately, think it cost £3k for consultant and anaesthetic fees plus aftercare where I had four post-op check ups. Operation was at 9am, I was home by 8pm. Definitely glad I had my designer vagina done Grin

Thanks Coffee I have been offered the op on the nhs but keep deferring it. I know it's getting worse i cant wait to have a normal poo again and think I have decided to go ahead just need to find a suitable time - I know I'll have to take it easy for a while but hard to do so with 3 small DCs and getting time off work.

Hello all, Not been on here for a while but I am feeling Sooooooo low today. Bladder issues are ongoing, I have a bladder pressure test in 2 weeks and have had to stop my meds beforehand so at the moment I have constant urgency, and I mean constant, only relieved slightly if i stay sat or laid down. Little one is at grans today so I am alone, need to do so many jobs around the house but standing up makes me feel like I'm going to pee myself, and I am visiting the toilet every half hour if I'm lucky.
I seriously need advice, because if this is now my life, it isn't worth living.
I can't go out anywhere for fear of accidents, my hubby says he feels lonely and "misses" me.(well the person I used to be) and that I'm bringing him down, being miserable all the time. I can't do anything with my daughter, or take her anywhere. I'm just sooooo miserable.
Also I have only had sex 4 times since my baby was born (she's 13 months now) I feel so bad for my hubby, but also myself I don't want to spend the rest of my life celibate!! And I keep thinking that if my hubby gets fed up and leaves, I'm going to spend the rest of my life alone, lets face it how many men want a woman with my problems?
Any advice would be great I feel like I'm falling apart, literally.

Basically I've been having physio for a year, gynae just gave me tablets for overactive bladder which helped but not significantly, so they changed them to another one which wasn't any better, then last time I got to see a registrar as oppose to a trainee or junior and he was shocked that nobody had done a bladder pressure test, so that's where we are now awaiting that. He has also said they will fix the rectocele but only when my lo is bigger as I won't be able to lift etc afterwards. He also examined me and is adamant my bladder problems are not related to the birth, how he comes to that conclusion I don't know as it all started after the birth.
I know hubby isn't just with me for the sex, but I've also been so withdrawn and miserable and he likes to get out and about.

In 1993 an OBGYN Dr performed a botched high forcepts on me. Like you, after the delivery I had a uterine prolapse (your prolapse is probably stage 2 at this point). I also had a cystolele. I was 28 years old and by age 36 I needed a hysterectomy for a 3rd degree uterine prolapse. I was told (by other OBGYNs naturally) this was not the doctor's fault: This was due to weight of baby, genetics, etc...Bull shit!: I could feel the ligaments ripping while he ripped the baby out!

No comprehensive studies were done back then on the damages mid/low forcepts do to womenthe alternative (c-sections) would be costly. MINE WAS A HIGH FORCEPTS outlawed by the college of OBGYN but done anyway as the c-section room was unavailable. By and by, the doc documented he performed a low forceptswhat a crock of BS--those forcepts couldn't go any farther in without his hand pushing up as well.

Guess what? Doctors lie!!!! And they lie good!!! And most people are willing to believe them before they believe you!!

And they know this...sucks to be you. :O( (Least ways if your not a doctor).

Well...cystoceles and rectocele repairs and hysterectomies, as well as possible long term brain damage to the baby are costly to this messed up social healthcare system I live in.

I know of a doctor who crushed the skull of a premi with forceps....so I guess I was lucky afterall :(

When you get upset thinking about the ongoing discomfort down there and incontinence and the limits it puts on your lifestyle due to a decreased ability to dance, excerise or run, or enjoy sex with out explaining what that thing is down there...just remember you came out easy cause you probably have a healthy baby.--forcepts have been implicated in micro bleeding in the brain of babies, with longterm learning/cognitive deficits.

K, I got to calm down, cause I'm starting to rant, and if I keep this up, someone is liable to find this true story offensive and have is deleted from the net (likely a doctor who has done this to someone),

Good luck

Oh...P.S. pessaries help.
