Just trying to get a rough idea so I can plan childcare/my hospital bag. Thanks!

3 nights

babaloulou · 28/04/2013 16:58

24 hours on the dot

Panzee · 28/04/2013 17:00

First one, 4 nights. Second, two.

JollyPurpleGiant · 28/04/2013 17:23

This is my second baby, but my first section. I'm thinking 24 hours might be a bit unlikely as bf did not start well last time so I have already raised with my mw that I want to get the best possible start for feeding which may mean a slightly longer stay.

Born Friday morning by emc out Sunday afternoon. Would have been out on the Saturday morning but peadtricisn didn't show to do checks because rhey were so busy.
I couldn't wait to get home! The noise was horrendous but in retrospect it gave me chance to get breast feeding established which was better had I left on the Saturday I think I wouldn't have managed and probably given formula.

1st baby, in thurs 7.30am out sat 4pm

PoppyAmex · 28/04/2013 18:48

3 nights, which is the standard in our local trust - I really wanted to leave as soon as possible, but they refused until they monitored (i.e saw proof) urine/bowel movements Confused

SignoraStronza · 28/04/2013 20:44

First one, in Italy was 4 nights (+ a night and a half of pointless labour after waters broke) as standard. Nothing wrong with me or dc. Was climbing the walls.

Second, in lovely UK hospital, escaped after 2 nights. Couldn't fault my care; just that room was so hot, bed not my own and missed dc1 so demanded to be released a night early.

Thanks everyone :)

redwellybluewelly · 29/04/2013 19:50

I'm booked for an ELCS and have been told I'll been in two nights as long as there are no complications.

Highlander · 29/04/2013 21:06

2 nights, but only because ward was quiet. I asked for 24hr dischrge (granted).

SoulTrain · 05/05/2013 21:20

Rocked up Tuesday evening, convinced baby was crowning. Had him 09:40am Wednesday, went home teatime on the Friday xxx

shallweshop · 05/05/2013 21:24

First baby I was in 2 nights, second baby 1 night.

Fairylea · 05/05/2013 21:26

Ermmm 6 nights.

I was supposed to be a straightforward maternal request elcs ... turned out I had undiagnosed placenta previa. Not a nice e experience! Thankfully very rare though!

Makinglists · 05/05/2013 21:32

Ds2 1st C-section 2 nights had to have a c-section because of placenta previa. Initial recovery is rapid - but when you get home and try to do some 'normal' things you really notice how weak you are. That said by four weeks I was driving and by five weeks I was lugging a xmas tree across the garden centre car park (huge mistake as I ached for days).

Exhaustipated · 05/05/2013 21:35

2 nights. 2nd baby, 1st c section.

3 nights, Bf went perfectly still dong it now. no probs at all, much easier to concentrate on it after section than struggling in pain and shock and tired after labour. good luck!
