Would you? Could you? Consume your placenta?

How about a more palatable way to consume your placenta by having it prepared into capsules!

I have experienced the amazing benefits of placenta encapsulation after my daughter's birth last year.... I had my milk 'come in' within 24hrs, increased energy levels and blood loss ceased within a week... I was so amazed that I decided to train as a specialist in placenta encapsulation so I could offer this service to others.

Has anybody else encapsulated their placenta? Or considering doing so?

I was going to eat mine - probably knocked back with orange juice, as I doubt the useful hormones would survive prep into capsules any better than the traditional frying with onions my grandma suggested.
However we had to stay in hospital for a while, DP shoved the pot in the freezer and by the time it defrosted it was a week later so didn't bother.

Capsules schmapsules.

There is no palatable way to consume placenta. Utterly grim.

Simply no, not on any level would I consider consuming my placenta!

I was offered corned beef hash when in hospital with DD1. Maybe it was placenta!

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 08/03/2013 07:34

Maybe it was Horse Placenta!!

I wouldn't eat it, but I had my milk 'come in' within 24hrs of giving birth and my blood loss ceased within a week all without the capsules.

I didn't want to eat mine no. But I did want to bring it home, bury it and plant a fruit tree on top. DP vetoed this, and I still regret it.

My placenta kept my beautiful DD alive while she was inside me, and somehow it just seemed wrong to throw into a yellow bin bag and incinerate.

I have plans for mine involving mash, red wine, onion and mushroom gravy and some green veg. Just to redress the balance of those being repulsed by the idea:)

I would not, could not, in a box. I would not, could not, with a fox.
