Is it possible to have a water birth VBAC?

Had DD by EMCS after induction due to pre-eclampsia followed by failed forceps and ventouse - great recovery, fab suturing, no complications whatsoever (er, physically).

Not that we're even remotely ready to consider DC2 but I know I'd like to try for a VBAC (my pushing skills were never in doubt; twas DD refusing to turn her head the right way!) and I'd still love a water birth - but I've been told by others that I can't and from hereon in I'm consigned to continuous monitoring and all that jazz. Note that these others are not HCPs - but is that true? What are the options open to me in subsequent labours?

Most hospitals would recommend continuous monitoring, although you could decline this and have a water birth. Alternatively certain hospitals do have a telemetry monitor, which is wireless and waterproof, so you could have a water birth!
