Want an ELCS but want to change hospital, do I get current or new consultant to agree to it?

I'm pregnant with dc2 and had an emergency cs with dc1 after a horrible failed induction.

I haven't had that much discussion about this with my current consultant (I'm currently consultant led because of previous c section) and he hasn't pressed for a preference for me to have a VBAC or ELCS.

However, I've decided that I do want to have an ELCS, but want to deliver at a different hospital not the one that I'm presumed to give birth at.

I have another consultant appointment at the end of March and am due in late April. Shall I hang on and get my current consultant to agree to an ELCS and then transfer to a different hospital or transfer now and hope that another consultant that I haven't had any dealings with will grant me my ELCS?

I'm not sure if I would have to argue the case or whether it would pretty much be granted, but don't want to be pushed into a VCAC.

Thank you

Even if you had it agreed with your current consultant, you'd still need to get agreement from your next consultant. They would be under no obligation to proceed based on another hospitals obstetricians say so. If you want to switch hospitals, you should do it now.

Thanks mincepies - let's hope I don't have a fight on my hands with my new consultant then....
