Has anyone refused induction & gone past 43 weeks???

I'm 40+11 & have an induction booked for Tuesday. I've had two unsuccessful sweeps & another booked in for tomorrow.
The lovely MW I saw yesterday said that I can cancel my induction & see how everything goes. She says that 42 weeks is fine & that some people just have a longer gestation.
I was induced at 40+12 with DD.
I'm not at all uncomfortable or desperate for the pregnancy to be over. The baby is still VERY active & I had a scan at 41 weeks & everything is just fine in there!
Has anyone waited & gone into spontaneous labour later than 43 weeks??

DS2 was a very easy homebirth at 42 weeks, I was pleased he popped out then as one of my neighbours was a doctor and she kept coming round imploring me to ask to be induced.

I was devestated when I was induced and ended up with a c section with my daughter. I had gained a good amount of weight, but still feel I was pushed into the decision. But she is healthy. With my son I was monitored and went an extra week past when the doctor wanted to do the repeat c section. I actually got contractions the day before the c section was scheduled and did the surgury. I felt he was born when he was supposed to. Now Im on baby 3 . I still look back and everything was not how I wished, but my children are healthy. They wanted to do this c section on the 23rd I think they said that was 38 weeks or 39, I negotiated to the 30th. I am huge, I recommend fresh cut pineapple to bring on labor. Breastfeeding makes a huge difference. My children usually have jaundice and breastfeeding makes it go away slower, but even if breastfeeding seems odd..just do it! Your children will get sick less often down the road even if you just do it for a week or month. C section by itself is not as bad as induction that ends up with one. It is very difficult the way modern medicine has changed the entire birthing protocol, but I would be devestated to loose a baby to stillbirth. Sometimes you just have to let go and trust the process. I recommend maybe a week extra or at least to 40 weeks, I guess after 42 can be risky, but to each their own. I still feel very hurt by how I my children were born, but I am greatful they are healthy. Recently a friend of mine went home over and over after having her membranes stripped ect eventually she had a natural birth, but the baby had been under stress and now has breathing issues from the prolonged process. Take care everyone I hope this helps.
