Baby laying with his/her back on my left

I've read about back to back labours but I'm not sure what it means if they're lying sideways. Following a scan to check position (suspected breech) it turns out that this little one is head down with his/her back on my left and feet over to my right. I'm 39 weeks. Anyone know: is this good/ bad/ indifferent?

I'm no expert, but I thought that was pretty ideal positioning?

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 13/12/2012 18:02

Seems to imply it's okay here.

NCT take on it...

Brilliant! Now I know what it's called I came across this www.spinningbabies.com/baby-positions/all-positions/left-occiput-anterior. Clever, clever baby! Thanks!

it could be marketed over christmas with the estate agent asked not to book viewings between 23rd and 27th?

lol wrong thread, sorry x

LOA is ideal (as you have read) and as my consultant said when mine was that way "don't hang around too long at home" :)

33goingon64 · 13/12/2012 19:47

My DS was that way. Didn't seem to make the birth any more difficult or painful, midwife said it probably made it more painful for me but I didn't have anything to compare it to!

Diamond7 · 14/12/2012 18:28

My baby is back to back still I think. I'm jealous of you LOA baby!

Good luck with the labour.

WutheringTights · 15/12/2012 17:44

I think they can turn any time up to and even during labour so don't despair! Good luck!
